COVID-19 Updates

UPDATED 10/12/2021 by Martin Edge - Secretary Manager

Friday 10th December 2021 now sees some restrictions return as the UK Government moves to 'Plan B'. Therefore, whilst we will see some changes, some measures will remain in place. To summarise:

Course

  • Pins can be touched and removed along with the removal of inserts in holes.
  • Ball washers are in use.
  • Each bunker will have it's own rake and we ask players when leaving the bunker to place the rake in the centre of the bunker facing the direction of play
  • Hand sanitiser will be available by the 1st Tee and at the Halfway House and we ask players to use this after playing the 9th hole. Golfers are also reminded that carrying a personal bottle and using regularly is good practice.

Clubhouse

  • NHS Track and Trace QR Code will remain displayed
  • Entry and Exit to the Clubhouse by Members, Guests and Visitors is by any door
  • Members, Guests and Visitors may order at the Bar - please provide your name, not just membership number when placing an order to be paid from your Clubhouse account.
  • Snooker Table remains open - specific instructions for use will be displayed in the Bentley Room which houses the table
  • Club provided towels will be available for use, but members are strongly recommended to bring and use their own towel should they wish to use the showers
  • Continue to protect yourself and those who you are in close contact with from Coronavirus

Face Coverings

Following the move by the Government to 'Plan B' in the management of Coronavirus across the country, new guidance / requirements have been brought into effect.

Based upon the Government guidance:

Face coverings are not required in hospitality venues where food and drink are consumed (such as pubs, cafés and restaurants), or during exercise (such as gyms), including dancing (such as nightclubs).

Where a premises or part of a premises is being used for an event where the main activities include eating, drinking and dancing, face coverings are not required. Face coverings must be worn in communal areas of the premises not being used for the event, such as in a hotel lobby when an event is taking place in a conference room.

I can confirm that the Clubs' Facilities Reopening Committee, of which I am a part of must issue the following requirements for all Clubhouse users, not otherwise medically exempt from wearing face coverings:

Face Coverings - (With Immediate Effect)

In line with Government requirements face coverings / masks are required in all communal areas of the Clubhouse, with the exception of:

Golfers’ Bar
Bentley Room
Main Lounge
Dining Room

In all other parts of the Clubhouse face coverings / masks are required.

Continuing to set an example as a safe and enjoyable venue is key to the good name of our great club. The use of face masks also plays a role in acting as a reminder to all that we are still dealing with a virus that does not discriminate and can affect anyone.

Our Office Team are working from the Clubhouse and can be contacted during Office hours or by email -   assistant@heskethgolfclub.co.uk

Visitors are being accepted once again.
